Dad & Husband
Dad to Freddie and Ollie. Husband to Anna.
Can not forget the dog – Sonny. Life as a Dad is challenging but rewarding. Time to work out often gets overshadowed by work and family time. So over the last few years I have adapted my training and habits to stay in good shape. I hope I can share some of what I have learnt with you.
Professional Rugby Player
Previous clubs included Bay of Plenty Steamers, La Villa Spain and Canterbury Sevens.
My rugby career did not turn out the way that I thought it would. I loved every minute of living the dream as a professional rugby player. A mixed bag of ups and downs, 5 broken cheekbones, a knee reconstruction and more. The great thing is you get a strict training plan and access to some brilliant trainers. So I have plenty of great tips and tools to pass on to you.
Current Business Owner
McCashin Media is a digital agency that helps businesses generate more phone calls, leads and sales with ppc campaigns
I have worked with a number of personal trainers setting up their online presence but nothing was really hitting the mark as a Dad. A number of Dads have asked me to help them with their fitness journey so outside of Digital marketing I wanted to add value and help others succeed. As one of my clients says pleasure can often be found in the pursuit.
Ultra Marathon Runner
Rotorua Marathon, The Virtual Ultra of Edinburgh & The Ultra Tour Of Arran
The first run I managed to do for my return to running training ended in a calf injury. It wasn’t until I had the Ultra Tour of Arran as my goal that I realised how bad a shape I was in, my rig was in terrible condition. Mostly from the endless amount of punishment in rugby and the recent changes into a sedentary lifestyle/Dad life. My journey to 100km started small with just 1km and a very uphill battle. I hope I can inspire you to take action. See the blog for more insights on the Ultra running.
